A Generational Shift
By Pastor Peter McLewin
In this issue of Inglescribe we announce significant changes in our staff and ministry. We are blessed that a shift to reach the next generation is underway. We are pleased to introduce two ministers and three ministry support staffers.
After serving our congregation as our primary office administrator for 32 years, Mrs. Susan R. Kidd will retire on August 31st. We deeply appreciate her leadership for our newsletter and her faithful behind-the-scenes service. (See more on page 7.) We will celebrate her years of service with a luncheon on September 8th.
Her primary tasks will be taken over by two people. Robert Cullipher, who has served Homeschool Plus as financial manager this year, is already transitioning our books from Excel to QuickBooks. We introduced Mr. Cullipher and his family to our church in June. Susan’s other responsibilities will be taken over by Mrs. Taren Rock. Both Robert and Taren will add their own touch to the many details that keep our church running so well.
Philip Botts is now serving as our associate pastor. He is about to complete his Master of Divinity degree at Regent University. He will be married to Amy Rojas on August 3rd. After their honeymoon they will return to Norfolk on August 11th. We are so excited for this new chapter in life for Philip and Amy. Pastor Philip’s responsibilities will include outreach, evangelism and discipleship.
Six weeks ago the Lord brought Mrs. Emili Dillahunty to our ministry. Emili is an experienced children’s minister. She loves working with our children, and our children love her.
Alanna Barton has taken over as our lead technician running our sound reinforcement, recording our services and projecting lyrics and visuals. We appreciate her willing spirit and technical skills.
Our staff appreciates the many volunteers who assist with the ministry the Lord has given us. If you would like to help with any of these tasks, please contact our staff members through the church office (466-7802). Thanks to everyone for everything you do to support the ministry of Ingleside Church.
I will cause Your name to be remembered in all generations; therefore nations will praise You forever and ever.
