“MAKE THIS A SUPER THANKSGIVING!”

Make This a Super Thanksgiving

By Pastor Peter McLewin

After a hot, wet and windy summer it sure feels good to experience some cooler autumn days. While our hearts go out to those who have suffered so much loss in the last two hurricanes, we are so grateful that our area missed a direct hit from these

storms. In the almost 40 years that we have lived in Hampton Roads we have never been under a mandatory Zone A evacuation order. So many people lost so much. We are still collecting resources to share with those in need. If you would like to contribute, please make a note on your gift to Ingleside Church for hurricane relief. 100% of what you give will help someone in need. We have partners on the ground actively helping people recover.

November is always filled with special opportunities to grow in the Lord. We will hear messages from the clear teaching of Jesus like “Love your enemies and do good and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for He is kind to the ungrateful and the evil” (Luke 6:35). There is nothing as powerful as this in the writings of any of the religions of the world. Learning to forgive and love enemies is the greatest strength of Christianity. Join us this Sunday to hear a message from Luke 6 on “The Team That Changed the World.”

Power Surge with Matt Ruckel and worship led by Big House worship artists will be on November 14th. November will wrap up two years of Power Surge. Many people have received healing and/or encouraging prophetic words. This is your last chance to attend Power Surge in 2018. See page 3 for more details.

One of my favorite celebrations with our church and community family is Thanksgiving Breakfast & Praise Service. I love hearing the testimonies of how God has helped people overcome challenges they have faced and victories they have enjoyed. Join us on Thanksgiving morning at 8:00am. See the front page for more details.

There is an interest among international students at ODU & NSU to experience a traditional American Thanksgiving Day meal. If you are willing to invite a student into your home for a meal, please contact the church office at 757.466.7802.
